ABOUT US

SafeBridges is a program run by Revival Academy which is the brainchild of Revival House Church. Revival House Church’s Christian ethos emphasizes on enriching morality in children and young people by imparting Christian virtues such as compassion, integrity and respect. We also encourage the children and young people to make sensible choices and model good behaviour

TARGET GROUPS

The program is an innovative rite of passage for boys and girls in the
ages below:

Safe Foundation Level: 11 to 13 years old

Excel Level: 14 to 16 years old

World Changers Level: 17 to 19 years old

CURRICULUM

It is divided for the 3 different age groups: Safe Foundation Level: 11 to 13 years old, Excel Level: 14 to 16 years old & World Changers Level: 17 to 19 years old

The curriculum is a contemporary “treasure chest” of ideas and interactive activities to help the young people to navigate the uncertain personal journey from childhood to adolescent to adulthood. The period of maturation and growth can have many obstacles and roadblocks as the young people confront life’s challenges and that is why a mentorship program like SafeBridges is important. The curriculum will be based on the 3 pillars of building a young. persons:

  • Sense of self and purpose
  • Sense of the importance of family
  • Sense of leadership and responsibility to the community

PARENTAL/ GUARDIAN INVOLVEMENT

Parental/guardian involvement and commitment to the program plays a vital role. The leaders explain the details program to the parents/guardians, get consent for their children and youth to have a mentor and be involved in the mentoring process

Parental/guardian involvement goes beyond permission, it means getting to know the mentors and participating in specified program events such as The Camp and the Affirmation Ceremony

Parents/ guardians are also required to attend 5 compulsory parenting classes as part of their involvement with the SafeBridges curriculum

It is our hope and desire that the parents/guardians:

  • Agree to register their children and youth for the SafeBridges Program
  • Be actively involved
  • Encourage their children and youth not to miss any of the sessions
  • Attend The Camp
  • Take part in The Affirmation Ceremony

MENTORS ROLE

The mentoring component of SafeBridges Youth Mentoring Program will give the children and youth the opportunity to reach their full potential through a structured and trusting relationship with their mentors

The mentors will help the children and youth to develop their competence, confidence, connection, character, caring and contribution

THE CAMP

SafeBridges Camp is a very important component of the program. In order for the children and youth to be affirmed, it is compulsory for the parent/guardian and child to attend The Camp

This is because very important sessions are held at The Camp between parent/guardian with the children and youth, together and separately

The Camp will be from Saturday, 1st to Tuesday, 3rd of April 2023

More details on The Camp will follow:

THE AFFIRMATION

Affirmation is God’s idea, He gives a blueprint and mentions His expectations

He instructed the Israelites on how to speak a blessing to their children and how to
affirm them

God expects parents to bless and affirm their children

Numbers 6:22-27 (AMPC)

And the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron and his sons, This is the way you shall bless the Israelites. Say to them, The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favour) to you; The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquillity of heart and life continually). And they shall put My name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.
